COURSE SYNOPSIS:
This course provides students with basic technical knowledge in bookkeeping concepts and preparation of financial statements for business entities. Students will learn about the accounting equation, double entry system, full coverage on accounting cycle and preparing financial statements. Students will also be introduced to the basic cost concepts in managerial accounting.
SAF ELEMENTS:
This course provides the required technical
knowledge for the preparation of financial statements. The course activities
will expose students to the process of recording business transactions (CLO1
and CLO2) and the practice of accountability which is in line with the concept
of Amānah. This course also will make students
understand the basic costs concepts in management function (CLO4) in accordance
with the role of khalīfah. This shall
be made possible using lectures and collaborative learning. Furthermore, part
of the course assessment which requires self-learning, promotes the culture of Iqra' (CLO3).
