With a scope that covers aspects of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics under general pharmacology including autonomic and systems pharmacology, the course focuses on the basic pharmacological principles of drug interaction within the human body system as the living organism. This course will guide the students to gather more in-depth knowledge on this subject by applying the basic pharmacological theory and laboratory experience to understand the effect of clinically important drugs that act primarily on the various human body systems. The course will also demonstrate several pharmacological experiments in the laboratory practical sessions to afford a better understanding in the pharmacological action of drugs resulting in the physiological and biochemical responses of the living organism. Finally, the students can better appreciate the hand of the Creator, Allah in giving ability to such a drug-receptor complex to initiate responses for the functioning of the human body system.
